This Pounamu Breastplate is carved from Kawakawa and lashed with a black adjustable cord.

It has four koru inside the breastplate design, from the center two smaller koru facing away from the center, followed immediately by to larger Koru designs that sit on the smaller internal koru.  A remarkable piece of pounamu and an even more remarkable carving of this pounamu.

The breastplate is a symbol of protection of both the body and spirit.
