The stunning Bone Whale Tail Breastplate has two koru carved into either side of the lashing.  It is etched with beautiful designs and finished off with the upper lip framed in paua or abalone.

The whale tail is a symbol of great strength as it is the driving power behind the whale itself.  Both whales and dolphins have been known to aid humans in distress and this tohu is symbolic of protection to the wearer, paired with the fact that it is also a breastplate which is symbolic of not only physical protection during battle but spiritual protection to the wearer.
