Koru is the Māori word for a loop. It is a spiral that depicts the unfurling of a silver fern, which is indigenous to New Zealand. It can also represent an individual, a new venture or an unborn child. The Koru is a symbol of peace, tranquility, spirituality and family; regrowth and new beginnings or journeys. In this form is often refered to as whanau or family.
