This beautiful Huia Jewellery Set are surgical steel coated in gold, silver or rose gold, ensuring that they do not tarnish easily and last a very long time.

The Huia was a highly revered bird to the Maori people.  It was a black wattle bird with a long hooked bill and is now extinct. It's tail feathers were black with white tips,  considered tapu (sacred/forbidden) and used by Maori Chief's to adorn their hair.  The Huia represents authority, power and mana.
